Toshimatsu Ueshima, the founder of Suehiro, opened European food restaurant "Kotokusya" in Dojima, Kita Ward, Osaka, in 1910. After subsequent name change, "Beef Steak Suehiro" was born. It popularized beefsteak in Japan.Nitaro Ishihara, who honed his cooking skill as the right-hand man of Toshimatsu, was allowed to become independent and open a branch of Suehiro in 1933 as "Ginza Suehiro" in Ginza 6 Chome, Tokyo. He continued to innovate in order to popularize meat dishes, and Ginza Suehiro was favored by many cultural figures and celebrities since its opening.Fascinated by the Asagiri Plateau with its grand view of Mount Fuji, Ishihara opened Suehiro Farm and engaged with studying and improving Japanese beef breeds that is suitable for steak. This led to the opening Ginza Suehiro Fuji on this location next to the farm.
